Volunteers
Though previous bike mechanic experience is always welcome, it is not required to volunteer with the Bike Works. Everyone in our community, regardless of skill level, can volunteer. We have tasks for all ability levels from helping to organize tools or parts to refurbishing bikes and everything in between. All we ask of our volunteers is that you be respectful to everyone, come ready to learn, and roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. When you come to volunteer we ask that you dress appropriately. Please no open-toed shoes or clothes that you do not want bike grease on.

Volunteer Staff
The Bike Works is always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our volunteer staff, or volunteers who commit to regular hours to help run the workshop or attend community outreach events. Volunteer staff are integral to the success of our mission related programs and services. We are looking for individuals to help teach education classes, mentor during open shop work nights, schedule volunteers, or help repair bikes/table at community events. If you are interested please talk to any of the volunteer staff at our workshop or at any events about this great opportunity to give back in a meaningful way. Previous bike mechanic experience is not required to join our volunteer staff, though always welcomed.

Donate Used Bikes, Parts, and Tools
One major challenge is the cost of bicycles, cycling safety equipment, and maintenance are a major barrier to access affecting a large part of our community. Your generous donations of gently, used bicycles, safety equipment, parts, and tools are critical to the success of our mission of promoting cycling for recreation and transportation for all Utahans. Refurbishing used bicycles and parts are our main teaching strategy we utilize to build empowerment and self reliance. We accept used bikes and/or parts in any condition. Whatever we can not repair will be striped for parts to help repair other bikes. We try to save a wide variety of used parts and what we can't we then recycle. Striping bikes for parts is an amazing teaching tool for new volunteers to learn basic bike maintenance skills. We accept donations at our workshop during our Open Shop Work Nights every Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm. The Bike Works is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Contact us below or DM us on Facebook or Instagram if you would like to donate a used bike, parts, or tools today. Thank you so much for your support!
